- Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP)
SMTP is used for sending email it is very efficiently (it is to
replay mail access transport service provides an inter-process
communication environment (IPCE) it may cover one or several or subset
of network. A process can communicate directly with another process
through IPEC). It was defined in 1982 as an RFC 821.
- Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME):
It used for "encoding a multipart message structure into a
standard internet email message" and it is also used for exchange a
binary files(images, spreadsheets,..) and it used a US-ASCII text, and
it used with multi-media, Audio, and Video messages .it allowed to
attach any file to your message. it was accessible in 1992 an RFC 822..
- Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP)
IMAP is used for accessing electronic mail. With IMAP the user is
able to access a new or saved message from more than one computer
(multiple computer). It allows a user to access or store a remote
message .
- Network News Transport Protocol (NNTP)
It is defined by RFC 977. It is a first Unix reference
implementation. It allows the users to read, retrieve, send and post a
news. It offers a supply way for active and passive news transfer,
called (pushing and pulling news).
- Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3)
The oldest Protocol used by email which almost every email program
supports. It is an easy mail protocol for retrieving internet email. It
has by a large been replaced with IMAP. It has been provide by Logix
Development Corporation.
It is a very-small-text editing program used by the pine email
program . It was developed by the Computing and Communication group at
University of Washington. It use ASCII text . PICO is used for sending,
searching, entering, file browser , spelling checker and paragraph
justification.
Pilot means "Pine's Lister of Things" and is available as a
stand-alone program for Unix hosts in the new version of 3.92. what it
has inside is a Pine built-in file manager, which for example selects
files for reclamation in composed messages.
