Pine's typical user groups, also based on the fact that Pine is mostly used on larger educational centers like universities are students and younger people who might also be interested in self development and adding features and new functionality to the Pine email client.

   Outlook Express

Outlook Express is used by no specific group, but is typically set up on home and private personal computers. Corporations and larger educational center, like schools and universities, all usually use outlook which is set up on an exchange server, due to the fact that there are more than one user on the system.

The extent to which outlook express users use their client, ranges from only to access emails to a power user with different profiles and complex rules and message notifications in the system. There is very little self development, due to Microsoft's very strict policy on handling its software products.
