Katharina studied first Media Culture (B.A.) and then Media Systems (B.Sc.) as well as Computer Science and Media (M.Sc.) at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Her master's thesis focused on the actual effects of novel technologies on gameplay experiences compared to their simple suggestion. During her bachelor studies, she was interested in the development of text-based games with a focus on blind players as well as critical film theory. Before she started at OutsideTheBox she conceptualised and realised workshops for film education in primary schools in a group of students. Her PhD centers around experiences of autistic children with technologies and including their first-hand perspectives. Other (research) interests include Critical Computer Science, Gender Studies and Philosophy of Science. In her free-time, Katharina likes to work with needles and threads.
